Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: ridge between Dollarhide Summit and Dollarhide Mountain, 32 km west of Ketchum, Dollarhide Mountain 7.5-min quadrangle, Camas and Blaine Cos., ID. Named from Dollarhide Mountain (Hall, 1985).
Reference locality: on east side of Wolftone Creek, 12 km west of Hailey, in sec. 8, T. 2 N., R. 17 E., Mahoney Butte 7.5-min quadrangle, Blaine Co., ID (Hall, 1985).
Reference section: along Wolftone Creek, in SW/4 of Mahoney Butte 7.5-min quadrangle, Blaine Co., ID (Wavra and others, 1986).
Reference section: at Willow Creek, Lat. 43 deg. 32 min. 49 sec. N., Long. 114 deg. 37 min. 00 sec. W., from S/2 sec. 26, T. 3 N., R. 15 E., to N/2 sec. 31, T. 3 N., R. 16 E., Camas Co., ID, Snake River basin, and at Deer Creek, in Dry Gulch, and north of Bear Gulch (Mahoney and others, 1991).
