Type area: Dog Springs, Chavez, and Old Canyons, 20 mi northeast of Datil, in S/2 T. 2 N., R. 8 W., and north edge of T. 1 N., R. 8 W., northern Gallinas Mountains, D Cross and Dog Springs 7.5-min quadrangles, Socorro Co., central NM (Osburn and Chapin, 1983).
