Type area: along mountain front in NW/4 SE/4 sec. 17, T. 3 S., R. 70 W., Golden quadrangle, Jefferson Co., CO. Named from Cressman's Gulch, Ralston Buttes quadrangle, Jefferson Co., CO (Lickus and LeRoy, 1968).
