Cranberry Iron Mine, near town of Cranberry, Lat. 36 deg. 08 min. N., Long. 81 deg. 58 min. W., Elk Park 7.5-min quadrangle, Avery Co., NC (Bartholomew and Lewis, 1984).
Reference locality: outcrop on NC Highway 194, 0.25 mi east of its junction with U.S. Highway 19E, 1 mi northeast of Cranberry Mine (Bartholomew and Lewis, 1984).
