Type section: exposure near Pratt Ferry on east cutbank of Cahaba River, north of Pratt Ferry Bridge, 0.32 km north of confluence of Cottingham Creek and Cahaba River, in NE/4 NE/4 sec. 33, T. 24 N., R. 10 E., West Blocton East 7.5-minute quadrangle, Bibb Co., AL (Shaw and others, 1990).
