Late Ordovician (Mohawkian; Chatfieldian; Kirkfieldian to Shermanian)


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: about 1,250 ft north of Lat. 40 deg. 55 min. and about 9,750 ft west of Long. 77 deg. 45 min., in Bellefonte quadrangle, PA. Exposure is on north edge of town of Bellefonte in cut along east side of Route 53, which leads to Milesburg (Thompson, 1963).
