Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Exposures at quarries along Camino Naranjo, at northwest end of Cerro de Las Cuevas, south-central Puerto Rico. Named from a thermal spring in Coamo River Water Gap, Coamo-Guayama district, Ponce quadrangle (Pessagno, 1960a).
