Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: strip mine highwall located near Coal Cliff, Nevelsville quadrangle, Wayne Co., KY. Carter coordinate location is 8-D-59, 4,500 ft from south line and 100 ft from east line (Chesnut, 1991).


AAPG geologic province:

Appalachian basin
