Type section (subsurface): depth-interval 1,214 to 1,344 ft, Clubhouse Crossroads No. 1 drill core, near Clubhouse Crossroads, Dorchester Co., southeastern SC. Named from crossroads of Coachmans Corner, about 7 mi from drill site (Gohn, 1992).
