Type locality: exposures in ridge known locally as Chediski Mountain which rises 1,000 ft above Canyon Creek opposite mouth of Willow Creek, Fort Apache Indian Reservation, AZ. Presumably named from Chediski Mountain, Fort Apache Indian Reservation, Navajo Co., AZ (Burchard, 1931).
