Type locality: several outcrops along the banks of Chattasofka Creek, approximately 1.6 mi east of Dadeville, in NW/4 SE/4 sec. 3, T. 21 N., R. 23 E., Tallapoosa Co., east-central AL (Steltenpohl and others, 1990).
