Type section: exposures along Woolsey Canyon Road and Black Canyon Road from Valley Circle Boulevard to base of Simi Conglomerate in Santa Susana Knolls, eastern Simi Hills, Los Angeles and Ventura Cos., CA. Named from community of Chatsworth, Los Angeles Co. (Colburn and others, 1981).
