Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: in W/2 sec. 23, T. 23 N., R. 7 E., Rio Arriba Co., NM. In the two easternmost rincons at the head of Canada Honda, underlies area called Rincon del Cuervo (see USGS Mendanales quadrangle map, 1953) (Galusha and Blick, 1971).

San Juan basin
