Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: exposure in south walls of Hueco Canyon, in central part of Hueco Mountains, Hudspeth Co., west-central TX. Named from exposures south-southwest of Cerro Alto in Hueco Mountains (Williams, 1963).

Permian basin
