Type locality: northwest side of Calico Hills, Topopah Spring quadrangle, Nye Co., NV (Sawyer and others, 1994).
Reference sections (subsurface): (1) depth-interval 1,701 to 2,704 ft, drillhole USW G-2, at Yucca Mountain; and (2) depth-interval 2,954 to 4,350 ft, drillhole UE-20f, at Pahute Mesa (Sawyer and others, 1994).
