Type section (subsurface): depth-interval 0 to 13.7 m, Illinois Geological Survey test hole 2, 4.8 km southwest of Cahokia and 1.3 km south of center of East Carondelet, St. Clair Co., south-central IL (Willman and Frye, 1970).
