Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Midway between Austin and Llano, along Burnam Branch of Doublehorn Creek, southern Burnet Co., 4.7 mi airline south-southeast of Marble Falls, central TX. Type locality is only known occurrence (Barnes and others, 1953).
