Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

First described from exposures in southern part of Moreno Valley and along western valley wall to a point about 1.5 mi north of Comanche Creek, Colfax and Taos Cos., north-central NM (Ray and Smith, 1941).


AAPG geologic province:

San Luis basin
