Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: southernmost pit of the Bridgeboro Lime and Stone Company, located south of GA Highway 112, and 6.5 mi west-southwest of community of Bridgeboro, Mitchell Co., GA. Named from community of Bridgeboro, southwestern Worth Co., GA (Huddlestun, 1993).
Reference section: lime pit at Duncan Church, northeastern Washington Co., FL (Huddlestun, 1993).
Parastratotypes (subsurface): depth-interval 8 to 40 ft in core taken at site near lime pit, and depth-interval 174 to 226 ft in core from the Hunt 1 (W-10954) in FL (Huddlestun, 1993).
