Type section: north of Wagon Bed Spring, south-central Fremont Co., west-central WY. Named from exposures south of Big Sand Draw anticline in SE/4 sec. 25, T. 32 N., R. 95 W., south-central Fremont Co., west-central WY (Van Houten, 1964).
