(Consists of Reger's (1926) Bent sandstone, Upper Bent shale, Bent limestone, and Lower Bent shale.)

Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: on Bent Mountain, Mercer Co., WV, 1.2 mi southeast of Pride, WV (Reger, 1926; Cooper, 1944).


AAPG geologic province:

Appalachian basin
