Type section: not stated, although unit is included in measured sections. Origin of name not stated by authors, but probably named from Beaver Run, a tributary of Wallkill River, or for village of Beaver Run, both west of Hamburg, Sussex Co., north-central NJ (Markewicz and Dalton, 1977).
