Type area: Avawatz Mountains quadrangle, southeastern CA. Fossil locality lies on southeasternmost flank of Avawatz Mountains, 10 mi by road northwesterly from town of Silver Lake on Tonopah and Tidewater RR, San Bernardino Co., southeastern CA (Henshaw, 1939).
