Notable exposures of thickest cooling unit in canyon walls of Cove Creek, in NE/4 sec. 2, T. 42 N., R. 27 E., directly northwest of Cove Meadows, Idaho Canyon quadrangle, Humbolt Co., northwest NV. Named from Ashdown Mine on west side of Pine Forest Range, Denio quadrangle, northwest NV (Noble and others, 1970).
