MEMBER STATUS --all in OK*: Amoret Limestone Bed, Worland Limestone Bed.

Middle Pennsylvanian (Desmoinesian)*


Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Named from exposures at Altamont, Labette Co., southeastern KS (Adams, 1896).
Type locality: near center of west line of sec. 5, T. 33 S., R. 19 E., about 3.5 mi west of Altamont, Labette Co., southeastern KS. No exposures in vicinity of Altamont show whole Altamont formation (Jewett, 1941).
