Named from exposures near the town of Aguada, near west coast of Island, Aguadilla quadrangle, Puerto Rico (Zapp and others, 1948).
Reference section: Highway 110 between km posts 15.6 and 17.0, 9 km northeast of Aguada (Monroe, 1968).
