Named the Yellow Branch member of the Poteet formation for Yellow Branch, Lee Co., VA. Consists of gray, thick-bedded calcarenite. Thickness is 8 to 9 feet. Unit shows up in chart as unit in lower part of Poteet formation and of Middle Ordovician (Mohawkian) age.
