Summary:

Named as additional member of Strawberry Volcanics [Slide Creek Member was named by Thayer (1957)]. Type locality designated as tuffs and flows that extend southwestward from vent complex in head of Indian Creek, just north of Wildcat Basin, Grant Co, OR. Consists of white or pale-gray to pinkish rhyolitic tuffs and flows. Is about 300 m thick in valley of Middle Fork of Canyon Creek. Interfingers with andesitic flows from main Strawberry vents. Age is late Miocene on basis of isotopic age of +/-12 Ma (Thomas L. Robyn, oral commun., 1977).
