Pg. 72; Illinois Bull., no. 95, p. 226, 1975. Wasco Member of Henry Formation. Ice-contact sand and gravel, largely in kames, eskers, and deltas. At some localities it is mostly cobbles and boulders. Is a discontinuous unit with variable thickness throughout area of Wisconsinan glaciation. Commonly rests on Weldron Formation and underlies Richland Loess. Age is Pleistocene (Wisconsinan Age; Atltonian Subage).
Type section: gravel pit along the Chicago Great Western RR, in SE/4 NW/4 sec. 24, T. 40 N., R. 7 E., Kane Co., northeastern IL. Named from village of Wasco, Kane Co., northeastern IL.

Pg. 16, 18, 56, 57. Wasco facies (informal) in Henry Formation of Mason Group. The lithogenetic-defined Wasco Member of Willman and Frye is retained as an informal sedimentary facies useful in understanding glacial history and in mapping glacial deposits. [Age is considered Pleistocene (Wisconsinan Age; Woodfordian Subage), based on age of Henry Formation.]
