Summary:

Pg. 311. Wartburg sandstone member. A sandstone near middle of Briceville formation, "more massive and more persistent than usual," lying from a few feet to 30 or 40 feet below Poplar Creek coal and being the sandstone upon which is located the town of Wartburg, Morgan County, northeastern Tennessee. Thickness of sandstone 30 to 40 feet. Is basal sandstone member of Keith's Wartburg sandstone, but latter name is here abandoned. Age is Pennsylvanian.
