Summary:

Named as the middle tongue of five newly named sandstone tongues of the Terryville Sandstone (new) of the Cotton Valley Group. Type section designated as the interval between 10,410 and 10,502 ft in the Southwest Gas Producing Co., Redwine No. 1, NE NW sec 11, T17N, R3W, Lincoln Parish, LA in the Arkla basin. Consists of white quartzose sandstone about 50 ft thick. Considered to be a blanket sandstone that overlies and underlies gray shale of the Hico Shale (new) of the Cotton Valley Group. Pinches out northward into the Hico in northern LA. Cross sections. Of Late Jurassic age.
