Summary:

Named for nearly continuous glaciated exposures on east-trending ridge north of Tuttle Lake in west-central sec.21 and adjacent sec.20 T17N R13E, Cisco Grove 7.5' quad [Nevada Co, CA] which is designated type locality. Consists of mafic tuff breccia, tuff, and minor volcaniclastic sandstone and conglomerate. Maximum exposed thickness is 4000 m. Unconformably overlies Sailor Canyon Formation. To east unit is intruded by granitoid plutons or separated from Lake Tahoe sequence by Talbot fault zone. Age is presumably Middle and Late(?) Jurassic based on stratigraphic relations.
