Summary:

Named for excellent exposures new head of Turkey Run. T24N, R8E, Osage Co., OK on the Chautauqua platform. No type locality designated. Overlies and underlies unnamed sandstone and shale. Lies about 70 ft below Bird Creek limestone (named). Consists of gray to black, locally oolitic, limestone. Lucks fossils. Thickness not stated. Pennsylvanian age.
