Summary:

Pg. 32-35, pl. 1. Tungsten King granite. Name applied to a medium- to coarse-grained, light-gray-weathering, pale-brown granite mass exposed in and near Tungsten King mine. Outcrop near mine is about 1 by 3 miles and forms central and steepest part of west slope of Little Dragoon Mountains. Exposure is upfaulted block or horst between Tungsten King fault on east and South Camp fault on northwest. Overlapping alluvium forms most of western boundary. Intrudes Pinal schist (Precambrian). Cut by Tungsten King fault of Late Cretaceous or early Tertiary age. The alluvium, lamprophyric dikes, Pinal schist, and aplite associated in space with the granite are the only formations in contact with the granite mass. [According to GNU records (USGS DDS-6; Denver GNULEX, Apr. 8, 1986), unconformably underlies Bolsa quartzite (Cambrian) in Winchester Mountains.] Age is early Precambrian. Report includes geologic map.
Named from Tungsten King Mine, in NE/4 sec. 1, T. 16 S., R. 21 E., Dragoon quadrangle, Cochise Co., AZ. [According to GNU records (USGS DDS-6; Denver GNULEX, Apr. 8, 1986), type locality not designated.]
