Summary:

Timber Peak rhyolite--type locality is Timber Peak in central Magdalena Mountains, approximately 11 mi south of Magdalena, sec 9, T4S, R3W, unsurveyed, South Baldy 7 1/2 min quad, Socorro Co, NM in Orogrande basin--abandoned in this report. Abandoned because several different ash-flow tuffs and local lavas were included in this unit. Age of these rocks not discussed--Cenozoic implied by title of report. ["Timber Peak rhyolite" was first used by Krewedl, 1974, NM Bureau of Mines Open-File 44; this report is not on the computer.]
