Summary:

Type locality designated as: till facies at Horse Canyon, west wall at 790 m elevation, NW/4 SW/4 sec.4 T19N R17E; outwash facies at landslide scarp on north side of Yakima River 1.5 km east of Thorp, NE/4 sec.12 T18N R17E, Kittitas Co, WA. Consists of informal till and outwash gravel facies with interbedded sand and silt. Till described as stony and fissile containing erratics with weathering rinds. Deeply oxidized braided-stream deposits are poorly sorted. Unconformably overlies Ellensburg Formation; underlies Kittitas Drift (new) or younger Quaternary deposits. Is Pleistocene age.
