Named as a member of Swope formation of Bronson group for Tennison Creek in western Bourbon Co, KS in the Cherokee basin. No type locality designated. Is thick, yellow, locally fossiliferous shale, and contains local thin limestone beds; is quite dark in a few places. Thickness generally less than 5 ft. Lies between Schubert Creek limestone member (new) of Swope, below, and Critizer limestone member (new) of Swope, above, where both are present. Cross section. Age is Missouri, or Pennsylvanian.
