Summary:

Swamp Creek Member of Saddle Mountains Basalt of Columbia River Basalt Group. Present in upper North Fork area of the Clearwater embayment in Idaho. Consists of medium- to coarse-grained olivine basalt containing abundant olivine phenocrysts; has normal polarity. Lies above the basalt of Weippe in the Pomona Member of Saddle Mountains Basalt. Age is late Miocene.
Type locality: Swamp Creek, North Fork of the Clearwater River, [Little Green Mountain 7.5-min quadrangle], Clearwater Co., ID.
