Summary:

Exposed for about 50 mi on Sushitna [later Susitna] River from point about 15 mi above mouth of Chulitna to considerable distance beyond mouth of Indian Creek, Cook Inlet region, southern AK. Slates are developed north and south of Sushitna-Tanana divide (about 80 mi width). Unit is essentially quartzitic, varying in coarseness from fine homogeneous rock to one of granular structure. Includes large number of quartz seams, 0.5 in to 2 ft thick. [age not given]

Summary:

Susitna slate of Eldridge (1900) are geographically extended to area in lower course of Talkeetna River. Described as slates, graywacke-slates, and microcrystalline schists with intrusive granite. Age is probably pre-Jurassic based on degree of metamorphism.

Summary:

Susitna slates of Eldridge (1900) are provisionally correlated with rocks of Knik Arm region. "Susitna slate is known to be pre-Jurassic." p.65
