The Stewarts Knob Gneiss is here named in the Pedlar massif in the Blue Ridge in Virginia. It consists of small intrusive bodies of light-gray to white porphyroblastic biotite-garnet leucogneiss with associated nelsonite dikes. Age is late Middle Proterozoic.
