Summary:

Reassigned as middle member (of 3 members) of the Pinicon Ridge Formation (new) of Wapsipinicon Group (rank raised). Ranges between 4 to 7 m thick in most of IA on the Iowa shelf. Recognized in northern and eastern IA. Overlies Kenwood Member of Pinicon Ridge. Underlies Davenport Member of Pinicon Ridge. Dominated by thin- to medium-bedded dolomite. Is laminated. Breccias present near base and at other levels in the formation. Nodular to mosaic anhydrite present in lower part. Usually fossiliferous. Burrows, stromatolites, ostracods found. Ooids are present locally. Middle Devonian age. Nomenclature charts. Graphic sections.
