Summary:

Pg. 32, 33, 38. Snyderville shale bed of Oread limestone member of Douglas formation. Is largely argillaceous; in most exposures its upper part is bluish or grayish and lower part is reddish. Thickness 11 feet in southeastern Nebraska, 15 to 17 feet in northwestern Missouri, and 12 to 16 feet in eastern Kansas. Underlies Leavenworth limestone and overlies Weeping Water limestone. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Missouri age). Report includes cross sections, measured sections, geologic maps, stratigraphic tables.
Named from exposures in Heebner Creek east of Snyderville quarry, located between 3 and 4 mi west of Nehawka, [Cass Co.], southeastern NE.
