Pg. 40, 41, 58. Silver Lake bed of Scranton shale member of Shawnee formation. Named by Beede, is top unit of Scranton shale. Thickness 8 feet in southeastern Nebraska, increasing to 20 feet or more a few miles west of Topeka, eastern Kansas. Overlies Rulo limestone, beneath which is Silver Lake coal. Age is Late Pennsylvanian (Missouri age). Report includes cross sections, measured sections, geologic maps, stratigraphic tables.
