Pg. 263-277, 293, 298; GSA Proc. 1936, p. 82, 1937. Shermanian (Sherman Fall) stage in middle Trenton. Recognized in eastern North America. Discussion of stratigraphy of Trenton group and list of formations of Sherman Fall age. Medial Trenton marked a time of distinct alteration of preceding conditions [Rockland and Hull stages]. Maximum of lower Trenton submergence seems to have been reached in earliest part of Sherman Fall stage --the Shoreham. In middle Trenton Sherman Fall stage, the Vermontian disturbance produced a geanticline east of the region that became an important synchronous elevation of Adirondack arch. Middle Ordovician (Trentonian).

Pg. 30. Shermanian stage. Suggested that term Shermanian stage be applied to Shorehamian and Denmarkian substages. Shermanian stage follows Nealmontian stage and is followed by Pictonian stage.
