Summary:

The Santurce Sand, here named, consists of loose, well-sorted, medium-grained, white or red quartz sand and interbedded clayey quartz sand that forms the widespread surficial deposit of the north coast of PR. Thickness is up to 100 ft. Age is Pliocene(?) to Pleistocene and possibly Holocene.
