Summary:

The Rio Chiquito Formation consists of unknown thickness of pyroclastics alternating with andesite flows. Locally contains lenses of limestone that correlate lithologically with massive limestones of Mattson's (1960) San German formation. Relationship of Rio Chiquito with Rio Yauco formation to west not precisely known. Cover of Oligocene and younger sediments obscures relationship of the Rio Chiquito with other Cretaceous rocks to east. Unit is intruded by Tibes diorite.
