Unit is named the Richmond Mountain Andesite. Consists of andesite flows and associated dikes. Weathers dark reddish-brown. Thickness is 213 m at type. Unconformably overlies the Pinto Peak Rhyolite. Age is Oligocene based on five radiometric (K-Ar) dates ranging from 35.6 to 33.2 Ma. (B1520)
