Summary:

First? published use of this informal name known only in the subsurface for a porous oolitic zone in the Phillips Petroleum Co., J. D. Reynolds No. 1, sec 27, T15S, R15W, Calhoun Co, AR in the Arkla basin. Occurs in the subsurface in the upper 100 ft of the Smackover limestone (first? used) in the Phillips well. Consists of buff, porous, oolitic limestone. Overlies unnamed chalky, white limestone of the Smackover. Underlies Buckner formation (first? used), or at some localities, unconformably underlies the Jones sand, an informal unit at the base of the Cotton Valley formation (first? used). Columnar section. Mesozoic age.
