Named for exposures about 2 sq mi east of the village of Redstone on east side of Minnesota River, Nicollet Co, MN in the Lake Superior region. No type locality designated. Geologic map. Name applied to same quartzite called and mapped as Courtland quartzite in this report. Is resistant to erosion forming a scarp about 175 ft above the Minnesota River along the east side. None of the quartzite is seen along the west side of the river. To north extends under glacial deposits. [Age not clearly stated, but if formation is the same age as the Courtland quartzite, it is of Huronian age. No other information on lithologic description or thickness included in report.]
