Summary:

The Ramey Creek Member of the Slade Formation, here named, consists of interbedded limestone and shale with abundant chert. Rocks of the Ramey Creek were previously assigned to various units which are here excluded from the Cumberland Escarpment area of east-central and northeastern KY. Conformably overlies the Tygarts Creek Member and conformably underlies the Maddox Branch Member, both of the Slade Formation. Thickness ranges from 0 to 10 m. Age is Late Mississippian.
